Treatment Areas of Expertise include:

-LGBT Issues

I am a proud ally and I am passionate about serving the LBGTQQIA+ community.  I have experience working with adolescents and adults who are exploring their gender and/or sexual identity as well as those who have come out and are navigating their identities in the world. As someone who believes in equity for all, I am doing my part to advocate, stay up to date on best practices, take necessary trainings and maintain familiarity with available resources. I feel it is my responsibility to keep myself informed on current issues faced by the community, including individual concerns clients have as they navigate their lives within the larger community. I am familiar with many resources in the Denver area and can help you find community and increase your support system in a safe and healthy way. I continue to seek additional training so that I am up to date on current issues so that I can be a better advocate. Preferred pronouns: She/Her/Hers

-Trauma and PTSD

Trauma comes in all shapes and sizes and believe it or not, it does not only impact veterans of war. Trauma can happen at any time in ones life and the impacts can be silent and slowly take over your ability to see the world in a clear and comprehensive way. I am passionate about helping you process the trauma you have experienced in your lifes so that you can take back control. Whether your trauma occurred in childhood, adulthood or over the lifespan, I am here to help.

-Adolescents

Therapy for teens can be as flexible as the needs of the teen. I tend to focus on getting to know my adolescent clients before deciding on a way to work with them. As someone who has years of experience working with adolescents, I know the most important aspect of any relationship is gaining their trust first. My favorite thing about working with teens is that they do question authority and the way I see it, this is a major developmental stage for them. That being said, everything must happen with a level of trust and safety. I encourage curiosity and skepticism, as long as it happens in a respectful way. When I work with teens, I like to use artistic interventions and may use music in session as these are ways in which young people communicate their feelings and connect with others. I have worked with teens in education programs, teens with foster care experience, teens with trauma and abusive pasts and teens who experience anxiety, low self-esteem and pressures from high demands at school.
